Annual production of 14000 meters of handmade carpets in Shirvan
The head of the North Khorasan Industry, Mining and Trade Organization announced the production of 14,000 square meters of handmade carpets during the year in Shirvan.
Seyed Ebrahim Hosseini, added: In this city, 2,700 weavers are active in the field of carpet production, and since the beginning of this year, 8,000 square meters of carpets have been woven by them.
He continued: out of this number, 1,200 weavers work permanently and 1,500 people work in this field seasonally and part-time.
Hosseini pointed out that so far 600 carpet weavers have been introduced to the technical and professional organization to obtain a skill certificate, and continued: out of this number, 500 people have succeeded in receiving a certificate.
He mentioned the number of insured carpet weavers in this city as 500 and the number of carpet weaving workshops as 1,500.
He mentioned the problem of education and insurance, lack of financial support and not following up on carpet affairs due to lack of sufficient staff as problems of carpet activists in this city.
