The center of South Khorasan does not have a handicraft market

The director general of cultural heritage, handicrafts and tourism of South Khorasan said: for teaching handicrafts in the province, the figure of 200 million Tomans has been considered, which is a very small figure and with this credit, a large number cannot be taught.

Hassan Ramezani stated in the meeting of South Khorasan Planning and Development Council: 860 works of the province have been registered in the national list and four works have been registered in the world list.

He said that the water treatment complexes in the province have good capacities that receive a large number of tourists every year, adding that handicrafts can be untying in the province and prevent the emptying of border areas and the migration of villagers.

Director General of Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism of South Khorasan, stating that weaving in the province has a historical background, added: it is possible to create employment for the villagers with one million and 500 thousand tomans.

He continued: In 1392, the sale of handicrafts in the province was one billion and 200 million tomans, which last year this sales figure reached 6 billion tomans. Special credit should be allocated to create a handicraft market at the entrances of the cities of Tabas and Ferdows, which welcomes a large number of tourists.

Ramezani stated that the Ferdows handicraft market has had a 40% physical progress since the last two years, adding that there is no handicraft market in the center of the province.

He added: One of the residents of Birjand Bazaar has given the caravanserai to the cultural heritage and we are renovating it, and if the amount of 500 million Tomans is allocated, we can open this caravanserai and bazaar in May of next year.

The Director General of Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism of South Khorasan reminded: We have 60 hectares of historical texture in Birjand and many people in the worn textures have weak and low strata.
