The turnover of carpets produced in Khoy is 2 thousand billion Rials

Director of Industry, Mining and Trade of Khoy said: the financial turnover of carpet production in this city reaches 2 thousand billion Rials per year, which shows the economic position of this sector in the north of West Azerbaijan.
Iraj Marandi added: “Every year, 100,000 square meters of carpets with different patterns and designs are produced and sent to the market in this city, of which 60,000 square meters with small fish patterns are the registered trademark of this region.”
He added: “Khoi is the first hub for the production of handmade carpets in West Azerbaijan, so that more than 60% of the city’s fine carpets are exported annually to Germany, Russia, Japan, the United States, Turkey, Iraq and France.”
He said: “Thousand-year-old micro-carpet is woven with high quality raw materials, wool, cotton, fluff and silk with Turkish knots and is in great demand in different countries of the world.”
The head of Khoy’s Department of Industry, Mining and Trade also pointed to the problems in the field of carpet industry in the city and said: the existence of export problems, lack of permanent exhibitions, lack of complementary carpet weaving jobs and cumbersome problems of workers’ insurance, the supply of these works in markets It has slowed the world, but its exports continue.
According to IRNA, Khoy carpet has been nationally registered by the authorities under the brand name of Rizmahi to maintain its originality and durability, but the durability of Khoy micro-carpet is achieved by supporting its export and boosting production.
Khoy in the north of West Azerbaijan is one of the important hubs for the production of handmade carpets in the country; More than 30,000 people work in the production of hand-woven carpets in the city’s 8,500 carpet weaving workshops.
