10% growth in rice production in Khash
The director of Jihad Keshavarzi of Khash city said: considering the suitable rains this year, it is predicted that the area under rice cultivation in Khash city will increase by 10% compared to last year.
Amanullah Toghi stated: The work of transferring rice seedlings from the treasury to the main land in the Irandegan and Caravander areas of Khash city has started from the second half of June and will continue until the second half of July.
Noting that the treasury work of this crop was done in the second half of May, he added: Suitable rains this year and the increase of river water, springs and aqueducts have caused farmers to devote more of their land to paddy farming, as the area under cultivation is predicted. This product will increase by 10% compared to last year.
Toghi added: This year, 600 hectares of lands in Irandegan and Karvandar areas of this city will be planted with local Sadri rice and high-yielding varieties of Shafaq and Shiroodi. The harvest of this valuable and strategic crop will start from the second half of October and is expected to be more 2100 tons of paddy should be harvested from these paddy fields.
He said that 9 paddy machines are ready to work in the Irandegan and Karvandar areas of the city, adding that the rice produced in these areas will be offered to the Khash consumer market and other cities of the province after the Pojari paddy is threshed by the mentioned workshops and turned into white rice.
The director of Jihad Keshavarzi Khash said: during the period of planting, holding and harvesting rice, 1800 people will be employed.
