10% increase in grape production in Ahvaz
The director of Ahwaz Agricultural Jihad announced the beginning of grape harvest from the orchards of this city.
Abdolreza Nisi stated:
The area of Ahvaz vineyards is 100 hectares, Hamidiyeh and Bavi orchards are 50 hectares and Karun orchards are 200 hectares.
He added:
This year’s production is of high quality and the harvest will continue until the end of July.
This year’s production has increased by 10% compared to last year, and it is expected to produce 35 tons of grapes per hectare.
Nisi stated:
One of the good features of the province’s grapes is that they are harvested before the grapes of other provinces arrive and have a suitable market.
He pointed out:
Before harvesting grapes, the fruits of the tree are used to produce juice and its leaves are used for other purposes.
This product has a high economic value for the people of the province.
The director of Ahvaz Agricultural Jihad stated:
Last year, vineyards in Ahvaz and its suburbs were developed from the province’s acquisition and property credits,
but these orchards need more support to increase production because there is a field and capacity for the development of these orchards in Khuzestan.
