Noting that barberry leaves have a large amount of vitamin C, he added: Therefore, it is useful in the treatment of scurvy and chewing barberry leaves strengthens the gums and teeth.
Barberry bark is used for blood circulation problems and even has a toxic effect on leech parasites and is used in the treatment of jaundice, malaria, gallbladder treatment, said the elder Vajargah. .
Regarding the medicinal properties of barberry fruit, he stated: Barberry is astringent and strengthens the heart and liver and eliminates liver diseases.
The sugar in barberry is harmful to diabetics, but research shows that barberry contains berberine, which controls blood sugar and prevents diabetes, he said.
