100% increase in mechanized rice seedlings in Mazandaran

Deputy Minister of Crop Production Improvement of Mazandaran Agricultural Jihad said: the level of mechanized transplanting in the paddy lands of Mazandaran in the current crop year was 20 thousand and 500 hectares, which has increased by 100% compared to the same period last year.

Yahya Abtali stated: So far, 186,500 hectares of paddy lands in Mazandaran have been transplanted, which has increased by 21% compared to the same period last year.

He continued: plowing and furrowing operations have been carried out on 238 thousand hectares of paddy lands in Mazandaran, which has increased by 3.5% compared to the same period last year. Operation Flat water on the surface (one of the stages of rice transplanting) has been carried out on 219,000 hectares of paddy lands in Mazandaran, which has increased by more than 6% compared to the same period last year.

Abtali pointed out: The treasury operation of Mazandaran paddy lands has been carried out at the level of 238 thousand hectares, which has increased by one percent compared to the same period of the previous year.

The Deputy Minister of Crop Production Improvement of Mazandaran Agricultural Jihad stated: Our advice to the farmers of the province is to be careful about the damage caused by the pest, such as the rice stem borer, in this remaining opportunity due to the dry seasonal conditions.

Abtali emphasized that the farmers of Mazandaran should take action to insure their paddy lands as soon as possible, and continued: Farmers should conclude an insurance contract in the remaining time.

He said that the required fertilizer has not been provided 100%, adding: Our advice to farmers in Mazandaran is to use micronutrient fertilizers and liquid fertilizers containing the nutrients needed for rice to produce healthy plants and a suitable crop.
