12% increase in date purchases in Khorramshahr

The director of Khorramshahr Agricultural Jihad announced a 12% increase in dates in this city.

Ebrahim Davari stated: With the end of the purchase of date products, 6,500 tons of dates were purchased by workshops and packaging companies in Khorramshahr.
The director of Khorramshahr Agricultural Jihad stated: This year, 6,500 tons of dates have been purchased by agreement from the city’s palm growers, which has increased by 12% compared to last year.
Davari added: some quantities of dates in the region have been exported abroad due to their quality.
The director of Khorramshahr Jihad-e-Keshavarzi added: Despite the slight increase in the product, in terms of quality compared to last year, due to dust, humidity and weather conditions, this product entered the market in the form of grade 2 dates, which have lower quality.
He clarified about the allocation of services provided by the city’s agricultural jihad to improve the condition of palm trees: During the tenure of this management, 26,000 nets were distributed to cover the clusters and hygienic harvest of the product.
Davari added: Also, 2,000 boxes for carrying dates were given to the palm farmers of Khorramshahr.
The director of Khorramshahr Agricultural Jihad added: Other works have been done in the field of date palms, including a credit of 180 million rials for the distribution of chemical and biological fertilizers for free, as well as the allocation of 4 million tomans for pruning operations.
He said: in order to inform and inform the palm farmers as well as provide expert advice and strategies to combat various pests and in addition to providing technical advice, three supervising engineers have been selected and introduced to the palm farmers.
