The director of Birjand Municipality Fire and Safety Services Organization said: 12 tons of barberry were caught in a fire in a warehouse in Mahmavi village of Birjand city.

Ali Hosseini stated: Yesterday, a farmer set fire to a barberry thorn near the warehouse and left the area after the fire was extinguished, but a strong wind blew the fire into the warehouse.

He stated that all the farmers’ products and equipment of this warehouse were burnt in the fire, adding: This incident did not cause any casualties.

The director of Birjand Municipality Fire and Safety Services reminded: the fire was reported to the fire department with a delay; So by the time rescue teams arrived in the area, the warehouse and its products had been somewhat burned.
