131% increase in pistachio exports
Iran’s pistachio exports have grown by 131 percent this year to more than $ 670 million.
A study of Iran’s foreign trade situation in the first eight months of this year shows that a total of 97 million tons of goods worth more than $ 44 billion have been traded between Iran and other countries, including more than 75 million tons of goods worth $ 21 billion and $ 500 million have been allocated to the export sector, which is 14% in weight and 19% less in value compared to the same period last year.
However, the study of pistachio exports in Iran’s trade was accompanied by the announcement of Latifi, the spokesman of Iran’s customs, to ISNA that pistachios were the fourth largest non-oil export of Iran in the first eight months of this year.
Accordingly, $ 676 million of pistachios weighing 110,000 tons were exported in the first eight months of this year, which is an increase of 131% in weight and 82.5% in value compared to the same period last year.

While the average value of Iranian exports per kilogram is about 30 cents, pistachios are exported at $ 6.4 per kilogram and above.
