15.3% decrease in Iranian carpet exports
Isfahan’s deputy governor for planning said: 16.5 percent of non-oil and gas condensate exports in 1379 belonged to handmade carpets, but now this figure has reached 1.2 percent and this is a sign of unfavorable conditions.

Isfahan Deputy Governor for Planning, stating that 5 million square meters of handmade carpets have been produced in the country and Isfahan’s share of this production has been 10 to 12 percent, added: 16.5 percent of non-oil and gas condensate exports in 1379 belonged to handmade carpets, but now This figure has reached 1.2% and this is a sign of unfavorable conditions.
Hamedanian stated that in the conditions of sanctions and high currency prices, we should accelerate non-oil exports, adding: When we are in oil sanctions, it is better to export carpets and import dollars.
He continued by stating that the construction sector will be reduced by 32% in next year’s budget: attention to the issue of production and exports should be placed in a special position. We need to facilitate the export of carpets to replace other exports.
He said that we do not have a good brand of handmade carpets in the country and in Isfahan. .
We need to know what color Africa or Europe likes, said Hamedanian. The conditions must be such that everyone has the right to choose between 100 or 200 carpets in order to stabilize production conditions. Of course, all these factors depend on not being under sanctions and the exporter being completely free.
The exporter has a difficult task to enter the global market and stability in this market, although our competitors are doing poorly, but if we lose the market, it will be difficult to re-enter it, he said.
