15-fold increase in walnut exports despite a sharp drop in prices
The export of skinless walnuts during the first five months of this year increased by 15 times compared to the same period last year and reached 2,500 tons, while the export price of this product has decreased by about half.
Customs statistics show that during the first five months of this year, Iran exported 2,500 tons of ordinary hard-skinned walnuts to 10 countries, which is more than 1,400 percent more than the export of this product in the same period last year.
The 15-fold export of skinless walnuts takes place in the new year, when the price of this product has dropped sharply, from $ 11.4 per kilogram to $ 6.7 per kilogram.
Thus, although the export of this product has increased from 200 tons to 2500 tons, its exchange rate for Iran has increased from $ 1.8 million to $ 16.7 million, which means an increase of about 9 times the total value of walnut exports against a 15% growth in exports. It is a weight.
According to statistics, in the fifth month of this year alone, Iran exported 400 tons of skinless walnuts, which shows a 18-fold increase in August compared to the same month last year.
On the other hand, due to the decrease in the value of each kilogram of this product, the total value of walnut exports has increased only 10 times compared to the same month last year, and thus has increased from $ 2,000 to $ 2.4 million.
Azerbaijan, Germany, UAE, Bahrain, Iraq, Kazakhstan, Qatar, Kuwait and Vietnam are among the customers of Iranian skinless walnuts, but the largest international buyer of this product is with a high difference compared to other buyers in Turkey.
The list of non-oil customs export items shows that Turkey bought less than 2,400 tons of fresh or dried skinless walnuts from Iran in the first five months of this year alone.
In addition to skinless walnuts, the list of non-oil export items shows that Iran also exports skinned walnuts to other countries. Thus, in the first five months of this year, Turkey, Iraq, Afghanistan and Qatar bought a total of more than 24 tons of skinned walnuts from Iran. .
