15% increase in grape production in Meshkinshahr orchards
The director of Meshkinshahr Jihad-e-Agriculture announced a 15% increase in grapes in Meshkinshahr vineyards.
Masoumi, director of Meshkinshahr Agricultural Jihad, said:
Grape harvest from Meshkinshahr vineyards is still going on and the production of this product shows a 15% growth compared to previous years.
Masoumi added:
Meshkinshahr has 2000 hectares of vineyards from which 26,000 tons of grapes are harvested annually,
and this year the harvest will reach more than 30,000 tons.
He described the uncultivated raisin cultivar as the famous and national cultivar of grape production in Meshkinshahr:
in addition to this cultivar, other cultivars such as Shahani, Sahebi and Khalili and such as Yaghouti and Norse are produced and sent to the market.
The director of Meshkinshahr Jihad-e-Agriculture stated:
The average yield of grapes in the Russian method is twice as traditional;
So that in the Russian method more than 30 tons of crop is produced per hectare.
