150 hectares of pistachio orchards in Qamroud district of Qom will be added

The head of Qom Qamroud Agricultural Jihad Extension and Services Center said: This year, in order to change the pattern of agricultural cultivation in this region, 150 hectares will be added to the pistachio orchards of Qamroud district.
Seyyed Mehdi Mazhari explained: Due to the construction of 15 Khordad and Saveh dams on 2 rivers Qamrud and Qarachai, reduction of precipitation, reduction of groundwater aquifers and infiltration of salt water of Hoz Sultan lake to water resources of Qamrud village, groundwater level This area was significantly reduced.
He continued: the amount of water salinity in Qamroud village varies between 400 to 1600 that due to these problems, old crops such as summer crops are no longer possible in this area.
Mazhari added: Therefore, changing the pattern of agricultural cultivation in Qamroud district is necessary and in this regard, pistachio orchards were developed in this area.
He stated: Last year, 120 hectares were added to the pistachio orchards of Qamroud district.
Referring to the fact that there are currently 1550 hectares of pistachio orchards in Qamroud district, Mazhari added: 400 tons of crops are harvested annually from pistachio orchards in this area.
He stated that 25,000 pistachio seedlings are distributed annually as a subsidy among gardeners in Qamroud district, adding that there are newly planted seedlings (between two and six years old) in 900 hectares of pistachio orchards in Qamroud district.
Mazhari said: Annually, at the level of 120 hectares, the garden improvement project is implemented in Qamroud district.
