Ahmad Mirhashemi stated: Every year, some of the dates produced in the province are eaten fresh in the country and a large part of it is exported abroad.

He continued: Special export dates are purchased by factories and packed in 10 kg packages according to the request of foreign customers.

The deputy of Khuzestan Dried Fruit Union added: more than 35,000 tons of dates have been exported from the product of last year and will continue until the beginning of the export harvest season.

Mirhashemi stated: Last year, the price of each kilogram of dates in the groves was 450 Tomans, and after packing based on the dollar price and production grade, it was 800 to 1300 Tomans, and the cost price of each kilogram of dates in the country is 1200 Tomans.

He stated: The price of dates this year is to be determined by the Supreme Economic Council and will be offered throughout the country at this price.

The head of the Khuzestan Dried Union reminded: We have no problems in the field of dates for the holy month of Ramadan, and we have announced to all date supply centers that dates will be provided to them as much as the country needs.

Mirhashemi added: Khuzestan is the second largest producer of dates after Kerman and the first in terms of exports, so that more than 40% of the country’s export dates are Khuzestan dates.

He continued: In the country, most of Kerman’s Mazafati dates are consumed because it is moist and fresh. For this reason, the taste of the Iranian people is moving towards it, and the dates of Khuzestan are still consumed in the country due to their semi-dry nature and the export of a large amount of them.
