20% increase in grape cultivation in Khuzestan
The director of Ahwaz Agricultural Jihad announced a 20% increase in grape cultivation in the province compared to last year.
Abdolreza Nisi, stating that this year 150 hectares of orchards in the province are dedicated to grape cultivation, continued: Grape harvest from the orchards of Ahvaz has started in the second half of June and is currently underway.
He said: Grape harvest in Ahvaz started earlier than other provinces and this year the production of grapes is of high quality, because nutrient fertilizers and new irrigation systems and promotional and phytosanitary recommendations have been used.
Nisi stated: It is predicted that 2,000 tons of grapes will be harvested from the orchards of Ahvaz this year.
