25% growth of mechanized rice harvest in Mazandaran
The Deputy Minister of Crop Production Improvement of Mazandaran Agricultural Jihad announced a 25% increase in mechanized rice harvest in Mazandaran this year and said: Improving and increasing the quality of the product is one of the benefits of mechanized rice harvest.
Yahya Abtali stated: So far, about 95,000 hectares of local rice cultivars and 2,500 hectares of high-yield rice cultivars in the province have been harvested.
He continued: From this level, 69% of the product has been harvested mechanized with special machines and other rice tools.
The Deputy Minister of Jihad Keshavarzi of Mazandaran stated: So far, about 12,000 hectares of farms with local rice cultivars in which the harvest has been done have been allocated for replanting.
Abtali reminded: the area of ??ratoon breeding in Mazandaran is over 29 thousand hectares.
Regarding the benefits of mechanized rice harvesting, he said: Reducing waste at harvest time, reducing production costs, speed of operation and faster harvest and liberating paddy lands for further cultivation and improving and increasing crop quality are among the benefits of mechanized rice harvesting.
Deputy of Mazandaran Agricultural Jihad Organization continued: Mechanized harvesting of rice makes it possible to harvest it from lower levels of rice plants, which has the advantage of reducing the population of pests, especially rice stem borer.
Abtali stated: Because rice harvesters have belt or chain wheels, it is possible to maneuver and move inside the fields where it is not possible to dry the lands in the first cultivation.
The deputy head of the Mazandaran Agricultural Jihad Organization said: Our expectation is that farmers will hurry up in favorable weather conditions and try to use special machines for harvesting rice.
