25% increase in walnut harvest in Maragheh
The deputy head of the organization and director of Jihad-e-Agriculture of Maragheh special city, stating that in the current crop year, about 4,400 tons of walnuts have been produced and harvested in the city, said: this amount has increased by 25% compared to the previous crop year.
Ismail Karimi Asl stated: Increased rainfall, observance of technical principles by gardeners, good communication between promoters and farmers and gardeners, as well as the use of anti-stress materials and mechanization of gardens using anti-cold and anti-hail systems are the main reasons for increasing crop production. Walnuts have been in this city.
He said: this amount of walnuts produced by gardeners and has been harvested from about one thousand and 100 hectares of land under cultivation of this crop.
He continued: According to the estimates of agricultural jihad experts, the average amount of walnut production from the orchards of this city in the current crop year is about four tons per hectare.
Quoting the public relations of the Jihad-e-Agriculture Organization of the province, Karimi-Asl added: Most of the walnut products of this city are offered to domestic and foreign markets due to their suitable quality.
