25% reduction in raisin production in North Khorasan
The director of horticulture of the North Khorasan Agricultural Jihad Organization announced
a 25 percent reduction in raisin production in the province.
Haidar Namvar, noting that 54,000 tons of seedless grapes have been produced in this province this year, added:
It is predicted that 11,000 tons of grapes will be turned into raisins from this amount.
He continued:
for every two and a half to three kilograms of seedless grapes, one kilogram of raisins is produced,
while due to the drought, the grape seeds do not have the freshness and coarseness of previous years,
and therefore for every four to five kilograms of grapes, one Get a kilogram of raisins.
Namvar stated:
14,000 tons of raisins were produced in North Khorasan last year.
He stated:
Some of the seedless grapes produced in this province are processed in the factory and the rest are traditionally turned into raisins.
