40% increase in Iranian handmade carpet exports
The head of the National Carpet Center of Iran announced a 40% increase in the export of Iranian handmade carpets in the first four months of this year compared to the same period last year.
Hamid Kargar, on the sidelines of the international ritual Every tourist is a knot in the underground city of Noshabad, said: This amount of exports included 1,430 tons and generated $ 83 million.
He pointed out that carpet exports to more than 80 countries have been done, he said: The highest amount of Iranian carpet exports in the first four months of this year was related to the United States.
Kargar noted that the US market had been closed to Iranian carpets for up to five years due to sanctions: We are seeing a resurgence of this market after Borjam came to fruition.
He added: In the field of resistance economy, Iranian carpets can be a prominent symbol and symbol of exports and reliance on the domestic economy.
Kargar continued: Handmade carpets have the least dependence on foreign raw materials, non-native manpower and also foreign investors, so by supporting it, an important step can be taken in the field of a cost-effective domestic strategic product.
He further considered Kashan, Aran and Bidgol carpets to have a global reputation and said: Carpet weaving is common in all geographies of Iran and specifically has a general and special reputation in the mentioned areas.
