$ 400 million worth of pistachios have been exported
More than 120,000 tons of pistachios worth $ 400 million have been exported this year.
Engineer Naqibi, Director General of the Pistachio Office of the Ministry of Jihad Agriculture, added: This volume of exports indicates the health of Iranian pistachios, which have passed the health filters of different countries.
Referring to the visit of a delegation of European experts to the Iranian pistachio industry, he said: From the 3rd to the 11th of March, European experts visited the Iranian pistachio industry, gardens, processing, warehousing, truck transport and food and drug control laboratories of the Ministry of Health.
He added: Fortunately, this delegation announced in its report that they witnessed significant changes in the Iranian pistachio industry compared to the 1979 visit.
But they also had recommendations for further quality improvement operations. Regarding the results of this visit, Engineer Naqibi said: It was decided to carry out joint research projects between Iran and EU experts, the results of which will be the preservation and development of Iran’s pistachio position and the economic prosperity of pistachios.
He said that Iranian pistachios have had a good year this year, adding: Although the export of Iranian pistachios to the European Union has decreased due to the high health filters of these countries and not because of the unhealthy nature of Iranian pistachios, but pistachio exports He had a good year.
In the end, the director general of the pistachio department of the Ministry of Jihad for Agriculture said: the permissible level of aflatoxin in European countries is ppb2, which is really zero and they use modern devices to measure it, otherwise Iranian pistachios are in perfect health.
