69% increase in Iranian date exports

The weight of dried fruits exported last year was 384,181 tons, which shows an increase of about 7% compared to 2004.

During this period, 218 million and 600 thousand dollars of dried fruits to Hong Kong, 178 million and 110 thousand dollars to the United Arab Emirates, 126 million and 907 thousand dollars to Germany, 81 million and 24 thousand dollars to Russia and 27 million and 335 thousand dollars to Exported to Italy.
Pistachio exports were the highest among the dried fruit subgroup last year. 140 thousand and 554 tons worth pistachios and pistachio kernels worth 823 million and 381 thousand dollars were exported abroad in 2005, which increased by 7.8 and 54.5 percent in terms of weight and value, respectively, compared to 2004.

According to customs, the export of dates last year increased by 69% compared to the previous year and reached 62 million and 303 thousand dollars.
During the same period, 128,801 tons of raisins worth 108 million and 365 thousand dollars were exported abroad, which has increased by 2.5 and 5 percent in terms of weight and value compared to the previous year.
