The director of Jihad Keshavarzi of Gilan-e-Gharb city considered the quality of rice produced in this city as appropriate and added: it can be said with confidence that the rice produced in this city is in the list of clean products.

Nusratullah Fallahi said: This year, 80 hectares of lands in Gilan-e-Gharb city were planted with rice and it is predicted that 184 tons of rice will be produced in this city.

He said that last year 150 tons of rice was produced in this city, the average yield of rice in this city was four tons of paddy or 2300 kg of white rice per hectare.

The director of Jihad Keshavarzi of Gilan-e-Gharb city predicted: this year, rice production will generate 9 billion Rials in income for the farmers of this city.

Fallahi considered the good taste and proper cooking properties as unique features of rice produced in this city and said: Because no pests and diseases are seen in rice in this city, therefore no poison or fertilizer is used and in this regard It can be clearly said that the rice produced in this city is on the list of clean products.

According to him, rice is cultivated in Gilan-e-Gharb city in early July and is harvested in early November.

The director of Jihad Keshavarzi of Gilan-e-Gharb city stated that in 2006 the area under rice cultivation in this city increased to 400 hectares, the main reason for the decrease in the area under rice cultivation in this city was the limitations of water resources and said: if water resources are provided from dams Existing area under cultivation of this crop will increase in the future.
