The director general of the Pistachio Office of the Ministry of Jihad for Agriculture said: Pistachio is one of the important economic products of the country, 80% of which is exported abroad.

Behrouz Gheibi in the HACCP training workshop (control of critical points through control and analysis of risk factors) in the Agricultural Jihad Organization of Qazvin province said: HACCP project has been started in 1979 in pistachio orchards and the implementation of this project from next year in All pistachio orchards in the country are required.

More than 70% of the pistachio trade belongs to our country, and producers must observe health points for the safety of domestic and foreign consumers, he said.

Gheibi pointed out: After the boycott of the Iranian pistachio crop in 1379, the need to implement the HACCP plan in this crop was examined. In order to produce a healthy product, we must take good care of the health issues in terms of planting to harvest so that we can export this economical product abroad as in the past.

The expert in charge of the HACCP project of the Pistachio Office of the Ministry of Jihad Agriculture also said at the ceremony: Currently, there are more than 430,000 hectares of pistachio orchards in the country, 40 to 50% of which are second and third grade and need to be improved.

Faizi said that non-observance of hygienic points in production, not paying attention to consumer opinion and not investing in this product are among the reasons for the increase in aflatoxin pistachio poisoning and added: Unfortunately, part of Iranian pistachios is still returned due to aflatoxin poisoning.

At the end of the ceremony, the technical and executive deputy of the Agricultural Jihad Organization said: Currently, there are more than 3,700 hectares of pistachio orchards in Qazvin province, of which 1,200 hectares are seedlings.

Abdul Ali Nikfarjam stated: More than 2,400 tons of pistachios are harvested annually from the orchards of the province, and Qazvin pistachios have been among the top products in the country in terms of protein content in the past.
