The director of Jihad Keshavarzi of Kashmar city said:
more than 85% of Kashmar grapes turn into raisins.
Engineer Abdullah Rezazadeh, stating that the grape harvest has started from 3,306 hectares of Kashmir vineyards, said:
20% of raisins produced in Kashmir are exported as green and the other 80% are exported to neighboring countries through gold or smoked.
Noting that only 15% of Kashmir grapes are consumed fresh, he said:
It is predicted that raisin production this year with an average harvest of 20 tons per hectare will reach about 63 thousand tons.
Rezazadeh said:
more than 20 types of grape cultivars have been identified in Kashmar city
that Asgari and Peykami are the most important cultivars used in raisin production.
Considering that Sahib Lal, Rish Baba, Fakhri, Yaghouti and Razeghi are other grape cultivars in Kashmar, he added:
These cultivars are used as fresh food and as a preparation of raisins and as a team.
