90 tons of pistachios are harvested from the gardens of North Khorasan
With the beginning of the pistachio harvest season from the orchards of North Khorasan, it is predicted that 90 tons of pistachios will be harvested from the orchards of this province.
Engineer Alireza Basiri – Technical and Executive Deputy of North Khorasan Agricultural Jihad Organization – mentioned the average harvest of pistachios from the orchards of the province between one thousand to one thousand and 200 kilograms.
Basiri added: 213 hectares of the province’s gardens are dedicated to infertile pistachios and 64 hectares to fertile pistachios.
Referring to the fact that 89.5 tons of pistachios were harvested from the province’s orchards last year, he said: The main areas of pistachio orchards are in the cities of Jajarm, Esfarayen and Bojnourd.
Basiri expressed hope that with the implementation of the project to replace grade 3 orchards and the implementation of the Touba plan, the area under cultivation of this crop in the province will increase.
