Kazemi, deputy head of the Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization of Markazi Province, said: With the efforts of 500 artists, more than 5,000 pieces of various enamel and engraving products are produced annually in Markazi Province, which generates $ 10 million in foreign exchange.
Kazemi added: Last year, more than 5,000 pieces of enamelware and engraving were produced in Markazi province, which is expected to grow to more than 10,000 pieces per year.
He added: In addition to meeting domestic needs, calligraphy and enameling products of Central Province are exported to the countries bordering the Persian Gulf, Europe and the United States.
The deputy head of the Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization of the province said that the value added of engraving and enamel products is up to 10 times and said:
He said: Arak, Khomein, Delijan, Zarandieh and Saveh are the centers of production of these two arts in Markazi province and each artist can produce up to 100 pieces of enamel and engraving works annually.
Kazemi stated: The history of engraving in Iran dates back to the millennia BC and enamel work dates back to the Safavid era.
