Alborz Province Encyclopedia of Iranian Handicrafts
Behnaz Alim Mohammadi Alborz Pajooh stated that Alborz province has welcomed a variety of people from all over Iran due to its proximity to Tehran and the existence of various industries. It has become so that in this province, different types of Iranian handicrafts are made by distinguished Iranian artists and even young students are taught.
Explaining the handicrafts produced in Alborz, he added: disciplines such as miniature arts, engraving on pottery, engraving on ostrich eggs, metal mesh, wrought iron, traditional carpentry and masonry design, mosaic, crochet, carpet weaving, jajim, Gabbeh, mosaic tiles, pottery, painting on glass, demi glass, sculpture, needlework, metal industry, integrated complementary products and sculptures and construction of traditional and artistic forging instruments are active in Alborz province.
Alim Mohammadi said: Today, it can be said that the handicrafts training center in the province has a valuable role in the employment of young people with taste and artistry through the training of skilled workers. To create in the society and also to provide employment opportunities for young and talented artists.
He added: After the provincialization of Alborz and the transfer of the cultural heritage of Karaj city from Shah Abbasi caravanserai to the new building, this beautiful caravanserai was allocated to the center for displaying and offering handicrafts of the province’s artists.
