Mojtaba Mehri said: in total, 40,800 square meters of carpets are woven in Gilan and most of the carpets are woven in Rasht city.
He added: 92% of Gilan hand-woven carpet weavers are women and 8% are men, and a total of 13 thousand 396 hand-woven carpet weavers in Gilan weave carpets.

Mehri stated that 90% of the hand-woven carpet weavers in Rasht are women, noting that Rasht has 2,894 carpet weavers and 8,700 square meters of carpets are woven in this city.
He announced the holding of training courses leading to the production of handmade carpets with the aim of promoting the culture of handmade carpet weaving and educating art seekers, enthusiasts and weavers of this art industry in Gilan and referring to holding 4 free training courses for 160 students in Lahijan cities.
