The presence of handmade carpets in the life of Iranians is diminishing
The Deputy Minister of Marketing of the National Carpet Center said: We have several programs in the field of abroad and within the country to improve the sales and export of handmade carpets this year.
Mojtaba Faizollahi stated: This year, the plans of the National Carpet Center’s overseas area are to attend international exhibitions, do advertising in the target markets, and send a trade delegation to other countries.
He added: Trade delegations will be sent to Malaysia, Singapore and Switzerland, and we will be present in China and Russia in the form of exhibitions.
The Deputy Minister of Marketing of the National Carpet Center said about the domestic program: holding provincial exhibitions, inviting merchants from different countries and the carpet sales festival are among the domestic programs of this year.
The weaknesses and strengths of last year were examined, Faizullahi said of the annual carpet sales festival. Decisions have been made about this year’s sales festival, which will be held in February, and it is hoped that by applying these decisions, a better festival will be held than last year.
He mentioned the purpose of holding this festival to sell handmade carpets as an Iranian product and brand, to acquaint young people with an art as Iranian carpets.
In response to a question about what facilities are provided for weavers, the Deputy Minister of Marketing of the National Carpet Center said: Life insurance, banking facilities and training courses are provided for weavers.
Faizollahi, pointing out that handmade carpets have the most job creation and added value, said: Handmade carpets are a completely healthy product that unfortunately has become very weak in the lives of Iranians and we should make this product more colorful in the lives of Iranians.
Regarding the fourth festival of selling handmade carpets, he added: This festival was held all over the country from February 13 to March 13.
The Deputy Minister of Marketing of the National Carpet Center continued: The stores that have decided to participate in this festival can sell all the products of the handmade carpet branch at their point of sale, which has been approved by the National Carpet Center and their products are expert.
