Ebrahimi cited the devaluation of the Iranian currency as one of the reasons for the loss of the boom in handmade carpets, adding: The devaluation of the Iranian currency caused the carpets to become more expensive, so when it goes to Europe, Iranian carpets cannot match the carpets of other countries, even Pakistan. Afghanistan and China compete.

This prominent designer of Arak handmade carpets pointed out: handmade carpets have become a hobby and luxury item and has lost the commercial sector.

Expressing frustration over the return of handmade carpets to the competitive market, he said: The hand in this industry has increased, at one time carpets were monopolized by Iran, but little by little Turkey, Bulgaria and during the revolution India, Pakistan and Afghanistan entered this market. And now Iran is no longer a unique producer, so they have taken the market away from us by copying Iran’s plans and plans.

The Araki artist reminded: the handmade carpet has lost its real place. This industry was once the largest export in the country, but today it can no longer enter the competitive market of this product as in the past.
