Alborz Cultural Heritage Handicrafts Deputy announced the activity of 2,500 handicraft units in the province.
Saeed Amini stated: Currently, 2,500 handicraft units are operating in Alborz.

He continued: Of these units, there are 2,200 individual cases and 300 units are workshops, and between three and five people are active in each of them.

Referring to the most prosperous fields of handicrafts in the province, he explained: Currently, wood industry is the most popular among artists, and after that, most Alborzi artists are active in the fields of pottery and ceramics, metal group, leather and kilim weaving.

He added: Considering that Alborz is an immigrant-friendly province, most of its artistic disciplines, except for kilim weaving, which has flourished in the villages of the province since ancient times, are not very old.

Amini stated: For example, after kilim, the oldest handicraft field in the province is wood, which dates back to the last 70 years.

Alborz Cultural Heritage Handicrafts Deputy added: Fields such as wood are imported to the province and have flourished with the arrival of immigrants from Hamedan and Lorestan.

Referring to the position of Alborz handicrafts in the country, the official said: The fact is that Alborz handicrafts do not have serious professions compared to some provinces such as Isfahan and Shiraz, because the situation of handicrafts in these provinces is very good both in terms of age and number of artists. Is.

He said: With these descriptions, Alborzi artists, relying on their capable hands and creativity, have been able to reach a desirable position in domestic and foreign exhibitions, which is not a small success.

Amini explained: Undoubtedly, with more material and spiritual support from these artists, we will see more prosperity of handicrafts in the province in the coming years.
