Local qatogh lentil recipe from Kerman in Iran
Lentil Qategh is one of the traditional and delicious dishes of Kerman, which is more popular during the holy month of Ramadan.
INGREDIENTS :
- Lentils = 1 cup
- Onion = 2 pieces
- Eggs = 2 pieces
- Black cumin = as needed
- Flour = 1 tablespoon
- Oil = as needed
- Salt, pepper and turmeric = as needed
INSTRUCTION :
First, cook the lentils and let them be completely crushed, you can crush them completely with a food processor or meat grinder.
Finely chop the onions and fry, after they are golden, separate half of them for decoration and add flour to the other half in the pan, and after frying a little, add salt and spices.
Add the roasted ingredients and some water to the lentils and after boiling, add the cumin and oil. Then let the food settle. The lid of the pot should be closed while cooking, but stir it once every few minutes so that it does not settle.
Beat the eggs in a broken and full bowl and after the food is firm, add the eggs to it and continue to beat until the eggs are cooked.
After cooking the eggs, our lentils are ready. Put the food in a bowl and garnish with hot onions.
