Elias Taj al-Dini, head of the Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad Agricultural Jihad Organization, said that the harvest of saffron began in 8.37 hectares of the province’s farms: It is expected that five kilograms of saffron will be harvested from each hectare in the province’s farms.

Taj al-Dini added: Boyer-Ahmad, Kohgiluyeh and Gachsaran counties are saffron production areas in the province.

He said: Low need for water, export-oriented, numerous nutritional and medicinal values ​​are the benefits of saffron, which made it possible to cultivate it in many parts of the country.

Taj al-Dini said: Bank facilities will be granted to people who intend to cultivate saffron with a 12% fee.

Saffron cultivation in Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad started about five years ago.
