Prediction of harvesting 4500 tons of pistachios in Sarvestan
The governor of Sarvestan city in Fars province said: forecasts indicate that about 4,500 tons of pistachios will be harvested from a total of 5,000 hectares of pistachio orchards in this city this year.
Mohsen Pourzarei in the meeting of Sarvestan Zakat Council, said: in this city, in addition to pistachio orchards, there are 100 hectares of saffron farms, 400 hectares of fig orchards, 400 hectares of olive orchards and other agricultural lands.
He said that animal husbandry has been pursued as one of the jobs in Sarvestan city, adding that there are over 300,000 head of light livestock and 3,000 head of heavy livestock in Sarvestan city.
The governor of Sarvestan, referring to the decline of zakat, noted: Zakat is next to prayer and fasting, but unfortunately it is an obligation that has been forgotten.
He announced his readiness to help and cooperate with the preachers and villagers with the preachers and clerics of zakat in rural areas and said: in the discussion of culture, special and extensive measures should be taken in the field of zakat to encourage more able people to perform this duty.
Sarvestan Friday Imam also said: 8 clerics have been stationed in the city to propagate and collect zakat and are cooperating with Imam Khomeini’s relief committee.
Hojjatoleslam Abbas Mousavi, emphasizing the need for cooperation with these preachers by the districts and villages, expressed hope that the meeting of the Zakat Council will be the beginning of good events in this area.
The head of the Zakat Department of Fars Province, while pointing to the ways of collecting and consuming Zakat in rural areas and meeting with gardeners and farmers, emphasized: Before asking God for a lawful day, we should ask for the capacity to have wealth and a lawful day.
