7000 square meters of handmade carpets are produced annually in Qazvin

The head of the commercial organization of Qazvin province said: 7,000 square meters of handmade carpets are produced annually in this province and sent to the consumer market.
Hassan Jamshidiha, stating that the Iranian carpet is a symbol of the national culture and art of the country, added: Of this amount of production, the export of handmade carpets in the province per year is 1,600 square meters worth 110,000 dollars.
He pointed to the importance of Iranian carpets and preserving the originality of this ancient art from ancient times to the present day and said: something must be done to preserve the originality of Iranian handmade carpets. Jamshidiha continued: Currently, 6,000 carpet weavers are working in Qazvin province, of which 800 have succeeded in obtaining a carpet weaving certificate last year.
Regarding the insurance of carpet weavers in this province, he noted: At present, carpet weavers in the province have pension and supplementary insurance.
Jamshidiha added: Currently, the Social Security Organization, with the necessary conditions, is ready to provide home knitting insurance, and weavers can apply for their insurance by referring to the social security offices.
He considered hand-woven carpets to be influenced by Iranian culture, saying: With careful and expert planning and program-oriented movement, the Iranian carpet industry can prosper and develop.
The head of the Commercial Organization of Qazvin Province informed of the serious support of this organization for carpet weavers and added: The art of carpet weaving, which is associated with the name of Iran and Iranians, is so valuable that everyone should try to preserve it.
The official noted: By providing appropriate facilities, holding training classes for those interested, product marketing and export development, we will help the prosperity of carpet weaving in Qazvin province.
Referring to the history of carpet weaving in Qazvin province, he said: Qazvin hand-woven carpet with original and traditional features was woven until 1299 AH, when Etemad Company was established, and since then, no carpet has been woven with these characteristics.
The Jamshidis cited the lack of an airport in Qazvin and the sending of carpets for export to airports in other cities as other reasons for not introducing carpets as Qazvin and not having a share in carpet exports.
