The director of Talesh Jihad-e-Agriculture said: This year we are witnessing a 10% increase in hazelnut production in this city.

موسAli Mousavi said: 300 Taleshi gardeners started harvesting hazelnuts from 135 hectares of their hazelnut orchards in the mountainous areas of this city.

He said that it is predicted that 148 tons of hazelnuts worth 150 billion rials will be harvested this year, adding: This amount of hazelnuts will be 10% more compared to the same period last year.

Director of Talesh Agricultural Jihad, stating that 70% of hazelnut trees are Talesh Khodro, noted: Assigning sloping lands with hazelnut trees to the people, can increase the employment of Talesh youth and increase hazelnut production in Talesh city.

He specified: in case of agricultural jihad supervision over these car gardens and maintenance of hazelnut car gardens by the people, we will witness the economic development of the city’s farmers.

Mousavi said: Currently, it will be possible to transfer 100 hectares of lands in hazelnut car orchards, provided there is a big leap in monitoring Talesh hazelnut production.

The director of Talesh Agricultural Jihad added: In some areas that are produced as hazelnuts by car, the production amount is 200 kg, while by pruning the trees and the necessary maintenance, this production will increase to 2 thousand tons.
