Beginning of hazelnut harvest from 1700 hectares of garden in Qazvin
The director of Jihad Keshavarzi of Qazvin city said: the hazelnut harvesting operation started from 1,700 hectares of gardens in this city.
Quoting the public relations of the Jihad Agricultural Organization of Qazvin province, Abbas Alikhani predicted: by the end of September, 30,000 tons of hazelnut products will be harvested.
He estimated the area of hazelnut orchards in this city at about 1,700 hectares and mentioned the average yield of this product as 1,800 kg per hectare.
Alikhani stated: The hazelnut product of this city is one of the garden products in the province, which is produced without the use of pesticides and chemical fertilizers and is completely organic.
The director of Jihad Keshavarzi of Qazvin city pointed out: Alamut region, especially the western part of Alamut is one of the areas prone to produce hazelnut crop in the province.
He added: Qazvin province is ranked second in the country in the production of hazelnut products and the harvest of this product will start in mid-August.
