Commencement of peanut cultivation in Astana agricultural fields

The director of Astana Ashrafieh agricultural jihad said: the cultivation of peanuts has started in 2705 hectares of agricultural lands of Astana Ashrafieh.

Kamalpour said at the Astana agricultural meeting: 90% of Iran’s peanuts are produced in Astana Ashrafieh.

He pointed out: the existence of fertile soil in this city has caused the production threshold of this product in the country.

The director of Astana Ashrafieh Agricultural Jihad stated: 5000 farmers are working in Astana Ashrafieh and it is predicted that they will harvest more than 6 tons more cocoons per hectare from their almond fields.

Peanut harvest begins in Gilan in early September.
