Sesame harvest from Khuzestan agricultural lands

The director of agriculture of Khuzestan Jihad Agricultural Organization said: sesame harvesting started from 9,000 hectares of agricultural lands in the province.
Mohammad Ghasemi Nejad stated: 9,000 hectares of sesame seeds have been planted in the province this year, which has increased the area by 10% compared to last year.
He stated that so far the crop of eight thousand hectares has been harvested from the fields under sesame cultivation, he said: it is predicted that 8 thousand tons of sesame product will be produced this year and processed in domestic and foreign industries of the province.
Qaseminejad added: Khuzestan province has the second rank after Fars province in terms of area under sesame oil sowing.
He announced the yield of sesame harvest per 750 kilograms per hectare and noted: for every one thousand grams of sesame, 450 grams of sesame oil is obtained.
