Harvesting of sesame and olive oil seeds began in Khuzestan

The director of agriculture of Khuzestan Jihad-e-Agriculture Organization announced the harvest of sesame oil seeds from the farms of the province and said: the harvest of this seed from 11,000 hectares of farms started on 15 October.
Mohammad Ghasemi Nejad stated that the average harvest of sesame is 700 kg per hectare and stated: Khuzestan ranks second in the country after Fars province.
He said that last year 6300 tons of sesame oil seeds were produced, adding: it is predicted that 7700 tons of sesame will be harvested this year, which shows a 22% increase compared to the previous crop year.
The cities of Ahvaz, Shushtar, Behbahan, Dasht-e Azadegan, Ramhormoz and Omidiyeh are the main areas for sesame oil cultivation.
Qaseminejad pointed to the uses of sesame oil seeds and said: This product is used in confectionery, flour and confectionery as an oil.
The director of Khuzestan Agricultural Jihad also announced the harvest of olive oil seeds from 90 hectares of fertile orchards in the city and said: it is predicted that 90 tons of olives will be produced and offered to shopping centers. End of message
