Harvesting of more than 8000 kg of sesame began in Khash

The director of Jihad Keshavarzi of Khash city said: the sesame harvest started in Khash.

Amanullah Tooghi added: It is expected that 8,000 kilograms of sesame will be harvested from this amount of cultivated area and will be supplied to the consumer market, which are mainly bakeries, confectioneries and oil workshops.

He said: This product is cultivated in late spring and after a period of 90 to 120 days and is harvested in late October.

The director of Khash Jihad-e-Agriculture stated: This crop has fatty seeds that are mostly grown in arid and semi-arid regions.

Engineer Toghi pointed out: Considering that most of the crop crops in this city are autumn, as it is planted in spring, it can be very fruitful as a valuable crop in an alternating period before autumn crops.

He added: The seeds of this crop in Iran are Khuzestan, Fars and some northern regions and in Khash city it is cultivated this year for the first time and in the coming years will be cultivated this crop.
