Harvesting 301 tons of sesame from Semnan irrigated fields
The director of agriculture affairs of the Jihad-e-Agriculture Organization announced the harvest of 301.6 tons of sunflower nuts and sesame seeds from the province’s water farms.
Amir Razavi, announcing this news today, December 11th, clarified: this year, in 200 hectares of water farms in Semnan province, sunflower seeds and sesame seeds were planted in 18 hectares.
He stated: With the end of the harvesting operation of these two crops, 280 tons of sunflower nuts and 21.6 tons of sesame were harvested from the cultivated fields.
The director of agriculture affairs of the Jihad-e-Agriculture Organization of the province further pointed out: Most of the cultivation of these two crops in Semnan province was located in Biarjamand region and the harvested crops are used in oil, baking and nuts industries.
