100 tons of pistachios produced in Zarandia are exported to Venezuela

The central governor said: Due to the high quality of the product produced in Zarandieh city of Markazi province, by the direct order of the president, 100 tons of pistachios produced will be purchased from the farmers of this province and exported to Venezuela.

Abdullah Sohrabi announced this news and added: Markazi province is in the sixth place in terms of pistachio cultivation area in the country, which due to its high quality, 90% of its products are exported abroad.

He said: Iran is ranked first to seventh in the production of six horticultural products in the world, and in the production of some of these fruits, Markazi province has a significant share.

He mentioned the lack of packaging and storage industries of agricultural products as one of the important problems of the agricultural sector in Markazi province and said: the necessary grounds have been provided to attract investors in this sector and the provincial officials have the necessary incentives to encourage investors to invest in this sector. Have been considered.

The central governor said: the pistachio produced in the pistachio orchards of this city has a higher quality than other production products in different parts of the country due to its special climate.

He added: Unfortunately, due to the lack of attention to this unique product in Zarandieh, pistachios produced by other provinces are bought and marketed in their name. With the construction of a pistachio export terminal in Zarandieh, farmers’ problems in the field are expected. Export of this product to other provinces and abroad should be eliminated.

He pointed to the measures taken to establish processing units for pistachio products in the city and said: to export pistachio products produced in the gardens of the city, farmers faced problems due to the lack of processing units for this product, which in the future to solve this problem by investing 10 billion tomans of the private sector in this field will also solve the problems of farmers.

It is worth mentioning that seven percent of the pistachios produced in Markazi province are currently produced in 10,000 hectares of pistachio orchards in Zarandieh, in which one ton of pistachios is harvested per hectare.
