Production forecast of 6 tons of fresh peanut cocoons in Ashrafieh threshold
The director of Astana Ashrafieh Agricultural Jihad said: Peanut cultivation in this city is currently underway.
Goodarz Kamalpour, noting that the cultivation of peanuts has started in Astana-Ashrafieh city and more than a thousand families are working in the cultivation of this product, said: 90% of the peanuts produced in the country are produced in this city.
He added: 2 thousand and 507 hectares of lands of this city are dedicated to peanut cultivation.
Kamalpour said that the amount of peanut production is announced every year in October, noting that it is predicted that more than 6 tons of more peanut cocoons will be produced this year.
He continued: Last year, 5.5 tons of fresh peanut cocoons, equivalent to 3,300 tons of dried cocoons, were produced in this city, which increased by 3% compared to the same period last year.
The director of Astana Ashrafieh Agricultural Jihad, stating that the sale of raw peanuts causes the added value of this product not to be allocated to almond growers, clarified: in the agricultural development plan of this city, this challenge has been considered and with the cooperation of a private company to create almond conversion industries Grounds Measures are being taken to sell peanuts in this city with appropriate and quality packaging.
