Increase of 150 hectares under cultivation of Ardestan pistachio orchards
Director of Ardestan Agricultural Jihad said: the area under cultivation of pistachio orchards in the city has increased by about 150 hectares compared to the previous year.
The director of Jihad Keshavarzi stated during the visit of the representative of Ardestan city to pistachio orchards: The pistachio orchards under cultivation of this city amount to 1250 hectares, of which about 250 hectares are seedlings and 1000 hectares are fertile.
Ali Tawfiqi continued: the area of gardens in the city has increased by about 150 hectares compared to the previous year. He pointed to the beginning of pistachio harvest from the city’s gardens and said: pistachio harvest will continue until the end of October.
Director of Ardestan Agricultural Jihad, stating that the harvest of this crop is expected to reach about 1000 tons due to hail and storm damage, clarified: This year is the year of pistachio fertility of the city that this amount of pistachio production by three terminals in Chaharmil, Seyed Abad region And Issa Abad (Kermani) is recorded and processed and then sent to the Pistachio Farmers Union in Kerman for pricing and sale.
Tawfiqi announced the highest area of pistachio cultivation in the city in Issa Abad and Ali Ibn Musa Reza (AS) farms and added: the three recording and processing terminals of the city record and process 10 tons of pistachios per hour.
