South of Kerman the first place in sesame production in Iran
The head of the Jihad Agriculture Organization of South Kerman, said: this region has the first place in sesame production in the country.
Majid Darini, stating that the area under sesame cultivation in the south of Kerman is 9505 hectares, added: the amount of harvest of this product is 1400 kg per hectare.
He said: This product is mostly cultivated in the south of Kerman in the cities of Jiroft, Rudbar-e-Junob, Kahnooj and Qale-e-Ganj, and its Rial value is 30 million Rials per hectare. The main consumer market for this product is neighboring provinces such as Yazd, Isfahan and Fars.
The head of the Jihad Agricultural Organization of South Kerman announced the time of sesame planting in early summer and its harvest in mid-autumn and noted: Due to the improvement of agricultural operations and technical supervision, the yield per unit area of sesame fields has increased by 10%.
