The head of the South Khorasan Jihad-e-Agriculture Organization said: it is predicted that 350 tons of sesame will be produced in the province this year, which will increase by 15% compared to the same period last year.

Hashem Valipour Motlagh stated: The area under sesame cultivation last year was equal to 372 hectares and this year it has reached 437 hectares.

He announced the amount of sesame harvest during the last year as 290 tons and added: 350 tons of sesame is expected to be produced in the province this year and the sesame harvest in the province has increased by 15% this year.

The head of the Jihad-e-Agriculture Organization of South Khorasan stated: The sesame harvest starts from the end of September and continues until the end of October.

Valipour Motlagh said: the rial value of sesame product last year was about 15 billion and 900 million rials and is expected to reach 17 billion and 500 million rials this year.

Regarding the problems of sesame production in the province, he noted: Among the problems involved in the production of sesame is the delay in harvest and fall due to the lack of special machines for sesame harvest and not mechanized planting to harvest in the province.
