Consumption of sesame oil for cardiovascular diseases
The food industry expert of Yazd University of Medical Sciences said: People with cardiovascular diseases can use this oil, because its consumption helps reduce cholesterol.
Ali Akbar Kamali Ardakani, stating that sesame oil is one of the useful and suitable oils in cooking, said: This oil contains unsaturated fatty acids and contains several double bonds, so people with cardiovascular disease can use this oil. Because it helps lower cholesterol.
Emphasizing that sesame oil should not be consumed excessively, he advised: Getting more than the required amount of oil increases fat storage in the body and increases the possibility of many diseases.
The food industry expert said: The best use of this oil is in cooking food, for example, by pouring this oil on rice or adding it to stew.
Kamali said: Due to the fact that sesame oil does not smoke, does not foam, does not change color and does not produce an unpleasant odor in the kitchen due to its high resistance to heat, so it is also suitable for gentle frying, but also causes good taste. It is recommended for preparing and consuming salads.
Regarding the storage of sesame oil, he noted: One of the hygienic points that should be observed in the storage and consumption of all oils, especially sesame oil, is to keep them away from moisture and direct sunlight and put them in a cool place. It should be kept in a closed door container and the container lid should be tightly closed after each use.
Kamali reminded: the used oil should be kept in a container with a strong and healthy lid and away from the heat of the stove, and the spoon soaked in moisture and food should never be dipped in the oil container or the oil that has been used once should be re-used. Return the oil pan.
He noted: The only contraindication to sesame oil is in some people who become allergic to it.
Kamali advised: Because food dries a little before frying, if we add some salt to it to absorb water and make it more compact, they will absorb less oil.
