Yazdinejad said that the tannins in the leaves and green skin of walnuts are the cause of its antibacterial properties and added: the naphthalene in these components also has antifungal, antibacterial and repellent properties of willow and insects.
He also mentioned the anti-viral and anti-cancer properties of walnut skin extract and reminded: the said properties will be effective for green walnut skin and leaves if it is used as a topical solution, so their oral consumption is not recommended.
